Abstract

This dataset, supported by the Quantifying Ecosystem Losses across Dimensions of Space and Time (QuEST) project, is a record of continuous daily discharge, nitrate (NO3-N), and soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP) loads under different surface connectivity states (DIS = disconnected, CON = connected) for four sites nested along the main-stem of Brush Creek from October 2024 to September 2025. This data is calculated from paired continuous discharge data and monthly synoptic grab samples utilizing the loadflex package in R to model average daily nutrient loads. As intermittent stream reaches are expected to expand globally, understanding how nutrient loads behave under loss of surface flow is imperative for nutrient management and monitoring.
