Abstract

This dataset contains time series 30-minute soil moisture (volumetric water content), temperature, electrical conductivity, and permittivity data from soil moisture sensors deployed at the Piedmont site at Jornada Experimental Range. The data span rom January 1, 2021 through July 31, 2024. Volumetric water content data were converted from dielectric permittivity using an empirical third order polynomial calibration developed using soil from the study site. Data for sensors deeper than 25 cm were were adjusted to conditions at 25 oC. Data are arranged in separate file for each array and datalogger. Data were collected using Campbell Scientific CS 655/CS650 soil moisture sensors in conjunction with Campbell Scientific dataloggers.
