Abstract
This repository contains the groundwater modeling input files used in the study "A regional model comparison between MODPATH and MT3D of groundwater travel time distributions" (Baker et al., 2025). It contains the input MODFLOW files for the regional groundwater flow model of the Central Sands region in Wisconsin (Fienen et al., 2022) that have a modified SFR stream network (Baker et al., 2025), along with example Jupyter notebook files that create the MODPATH and MT3D input files, run the simulations, and visualize the outputs.

Information | The three example Jupyter notebooks consist of two examples of the MODPATH code used (simulations MP-4 and MP-6) and one example of the MT3D code used (simulation MU-1). The notebooks can be modified to run the additional simulations discussed in Baker et al. (2025). |
