Abstract
The resource includes numerical modeling code developed using FlexPDE to assess ice sheet loading on groundwater head and salinity distributions in sub-ice sheet coastal aquifers. This code is based off the foundational code developed and described by Bense & Person (2008) and simultaneously solves coupled partial differential equations describing subsurface, two-dimensional, variable-density fluid flow and solute transport with mechanical loading. Included in this resource are the spin-up files and full simulation code, as well as metadata describing the simulation process.

The files provided include the necessary scripts to run the groundwater model that incorporates variable-density fluid flow and aquifer loading/unloading. To run the scripts, a FlexPDE license of version 7 or newer is necessary. Three files are included in this resource: two spin-up files and the full simulation file. To execute this code, first run the Load_hold_unload_sim1.pde to completion. This will produce a file titled head_sim_1.dat; this file is needed to run the second spin-up file Spin_up_head_con_sim1.pde. Running this script to completion will produce the three files needed to execute the full simulation: full_sup_head_sim_1_1001.dat, full_sup_temp_sim_1_1001.dat, full_sup_cont_sim_1_1001.dat.
