Abstract

Streamflow, precipitation, and potential evapotranspiration time series for 5015 catchments from different large-sample datasets: 720 gauges in Central Europe from the LamaH dataset (Klingler et al. 2021), 2683 gauges in the United States from the streamflow and basin characteristics dataset by Dudley et al. 2018 (Dudley18), 208 gauges in Australia from the CAMELS-AUS dataset (Fowler et al. 2021), 109 gauges in Chile from the CAMELS-CL dataset (Alvarez et al. 2018), 576 catchments in Great Britain from the CAMELS-GB dataset (Coxon et al. 2020), and 733 catchments in Brazil from the Catchments Attributes for Brazil (CABra) dataset (Almagro et al. 2021).

Quasi-global streamflow dataset from large sample datasets

Authors: Manuela Brunner
Owners: Manuela Brunner
Last update: 25.07.2022

This dataset provides input data and for the drought clustering analysis performed by Brunner and Stahl (2023).

Dataset components:

(1) Shapefile of 5015 around the globe compiled from different large-sample datasets: quasi_global_gauges_nat_and_reg.shp
(2) Daily streamflow time series compiled from large-sample datasets: discharge.7z
(3) Daily precipitation time series compiled from large-sample datasets: precipitation.7z
(4) Daily potential evapotranspiration time series compiled from large-sample datasets: pet-7z
(5) Catchment characteristics of 5015 catchments: meta_gauges_nat_and_reg.txt
