Abstract

This collection contains continuous water quality measurements (water temperature, specific conductance, turbidity, pH, and dissolved oxygen) from river monitoring sites located upstream and downstream of reservoirs in New Mexico and Colorado, USA. Monitoring sites include the Rio Chama upstream and downstream of Abiquiu Reservoir, the Rio Grande upstream of Cochiti Reservoir and downstream of Jemez Canyon Reservoir, the Canadian River upstream of Conchas Reservoir, the Arkansas River upstream and downstream of John Martin Reservoir, the Pecos River upstream and downstream of Santa Rosa Reservoir, and the Purgatory River upstream and downstream of Trinidad Reservoir. These data support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) reservoir operations by quantifying sediment delivery to reservoirs and evaluating the impacts of reservoirs on sediment retention and water quality. Data collection is ongoing, and individual data resources within this collection contain site-specific metadata, instrumentation details, and temporal coverage.
