Abstract

This resource provides a dynamic river temperature model for the Colorado River in Grand Canyon. This model is described in the Water Resources Research article "Water temperature controls for regulated canyon-bound rivers" (doi: 10.1029/2020WR027566).

This folder contains the baseline river temperature model for Grand Canyon from Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek. The model is run using HydroCouple. See https://github.com/HydroCouple/HydroCoupleComposer/releases to obtain the latest software version.

Note that .hcp and .hcc files contain paths to the HydroCouple software and must be changed in order to run model on a different computer

Folder: Compositions
-- HydroCouple Composition file

Folder: csh
-- Folder containing model and input/output data for the channel solute and heat transport component
-- model configuration file has the file type .inp
-- model output file is netCDF (.nc)
-- model input files are .csv

Folder: hts
-- Folder containing model and output data for the hyporheic transient storage component
