Abstract
The Patiño Aquifer is a key groundwater source for the metropolitan region of Asunción, Paraguay, supporting domestic, industrial, and agricultural demands. Increasing pressure on this resource highlights the need to better understand recharge processes and groundwater flow dynamics. This study (2019-2025) applied stable water isotopes and dissolved radon to evaluate the hydrological connectivity between precipitation, surface water, and groundwater. This database includes stable water isotopes compositions in precipitation (N=73), groundwater (N=24), and surface waters (N=22) across the Patiño Aquifer in Asunción, Paraguay. In addition, 39 radon measurements in groundwater and surface waters are also included. Our findings improve the understanding of aquifer dynamics and highlight the influence of urbanization and extreme rainfall events on groundwater recharge and quality under changing climatic conditions.
