Abstract

This HydroShare resource presents a curated database of historical flood and flash flood events in Cuba spanning the years 2015 to 2024, derived from crowdsourced news reports. The dataset, provided in Excel format, contains detailed information such as the year and period of occurrence, impacted locations, geographic references, availability of satellite imagery, source attribution, descriptive accounts of each event, and direct links to the original news reports. This compilation is intended to support researchers and practitioners by offering a reference database for the calibration and validation of flood and flash flood models, ultimately contributing to enhanced modeling accuracy and flood risk management in Cuba.

Historic Flood and Flash Flood Events in Cuba (2015–2024)

This dataset contains a compilation of historic flood and flash flood events in Cuba, collected from crowdsourced news sources covering the period from 2015 to 2024.
