Abstract

These data are the annual maximum inundation for the Rio Salado Basin, Argentina and Bangladesh. The Argentina data uses the MODIS satellite and an algorithm described in Tellman et al 2021. The project was funded by the World Bank and produced by Cloud to Street. It includes a .csv of inudnated area in m2 and in fractional inundated area of the basin. The basin shapefile, provided by the World Bank, is provided. The Bangladesh data is provided by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center from the government. This is based on the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (FFWC) flood model (MIKE11 from DHI (Danish Hydraulic Institute) from 1975-2019. The model uses 74 rainfall stations and 94 water level stations and a 300m spatial resolution DEM to estimate inundated area.
