Abstract

This dataset includes time series data collected during baseflow and stormflow conditions in the Northwest Field Canal, located in Logan, UT. Time series data includes fluorescent dissolved organic matter (FDOM), observations from custom fluorometers used to calculate the fluorescence index in situ, turbidity, and rainfall. Methods used for deploying sensors, collecting data, and processing for quality control are described in the methods document contained within this resource.

Root Level Folder Content Descriptions

Finalized_Data - This folder contains final quality controlled time series data for colored dissolved organic matter measured in the Northwest Field Canal at 200 South 400 West and in the Northwest Field Canal at 1800 North 200 West. This data has been quality controlled using ODM Tools Python v1.2.8-beta and corrected for temperature and turbidity influences on colored dissolved organic matter. NaN and -9999 values represent data that were removed during the quality control of the time series data. Time series data for quality controlled temperature and turbidity measured in the Northwest Field Canal at 200 South 400 West and in the Northwest Field Canal at 1800 North 200 West are included in this folder because they were used in the colored dissolved organic matter correction procedure. See NWFC_TimeSeries_Methods.pdf for background on FDOM temperature and turbidity correction background. Files are named after their site code and variable code. See file headers for more details. Use this data for future analyses.

>Derived_Data
This folder contains time series data derived from other time series data (specifically FI_insitu) that were measured in the Northwest Field Canal at 200 South 400 West and in the Northwest Field Canal at 1800 North 200 West. NaN and -9999 values represent data that were removed during the quality control of the time series data. See NWFC_TimeSeries_Methods.pdf for background on derived data.

NWFC_TimeSeries_Methods.pdf - This document provides supplementary info for the methods used in measuring and data processing of time series data.

>GIS_Data - This folder contains a shape file with the location of the all sites where time series measurements were collected in the Northwest Field Canal.

Supplemental_Data - This folder contains raw time series data and supporting data. See the readme.txt file in the root level of the Supplemental_Data folder for supporting documentation. This data should not need to be used for future analyses, it is recommended that the finalized data provided be used.
