Abstract
Supplementary dataset of shapefiles of the saline groundwater wedge footprint for the twelve model scenarios for twelve sea levels outlined in: Befus, K.M., Barnard, P.L., Hoover, D.J., Finzi Hart, J.A., and Voss, C.I. (2020), Increasing threat of coastal groundwater hazards from sea-level rise in California, Nature Climate Change, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41558-020-0874-1.

California Saline Groundwater Wedge Footprint Model Results Supplementary dataset of shapefiles of the saline groundwater wedge footprint for the twelve model scenarios for twelve sea levels outlined in: Befus, K.M., Barnard, P.L., Hoover, D.J., Finzi Hart, J.A., and Voss, C. (2020), Increasing threat of coastal groundwater hazards from sea-level rise in California, Nature Climate Change. Files are compressed into zip files by county. Each county directory contains the saline groundwater wedge footprint for all 12 scenarios and all sea level scenarios using the following naming convention: {county}_{model_approach}_{datum}_noghb_Kh{Kh}_slr{sea_level_rise_scenario}_GH_swi.shp {county}: County for model results. {model_approach}: either "linresponse" for the flux-controlled approach or blank for the MODFLOW approach. {datum}: lmsl for Local Mean Sea Level tidal datum or mhhw for the Mean Higher High Water tidal datum. {Kh}: 0p1, 1p0, or 10p0 for a hydraulic conductivity in the model runs of 0.1, 1.0, and 10.0 m/day. {sea_level_rise_scenario}: 0p25m for 0.25 m above present-day sea level for the specified tidal datum. Sea level scenarios include [0:0.25:2,2.5,3,5] m, and the flux-controlled results for 0p00m are omitted as they are the same as the MODFLOW results. GH: stands for Ghyben-Herzberg solution for the interface position. swi: stands for saltwater intrusion. Funding for this project was made available by the California Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006 (Proposition 84) Ocean Protection Council
