Abstract
This HydroShare collection brings together the 12 data resources used in the study “Stream Network Dynamics in Three Watersheds in the Southeastern USA Highlight Interactions Between Physiographic Variables.” The resources were collected in three non-perennial watersheds that span a physiographic gradient in Alabama ("Shambley Creek" in the Coastal Plain, "Talladega" in the Piedmont, and "Paint Rock" in the Appalachian Plateaus). Data were collected from 2021 through 2024 as part of the Aquatic Intermittency effects on Microbiomes in Streams (AIMS) project. This collection contains environmental and geospatial site information, spatially distributed measurements of water presence/absence from STIC sensors, continuous discharge measurements collected at the watershed outlet, and relevant meteorological data for each of the three watersheds. Most sensor measurements were recorded at 15-minute intervals. Together, these resources provide the hydrologic observations that were paired with physiographic data that served as the foundation for the study’s characterization of stream network dynamics and their potential drivers. Individual resources include site-specific metadata, methods, quality-control information, and data files to support reuse and reproducible analysis.
