ABSTRACT:

The dataset includes attributes from 38 beaver ponds collected during July and August of 2024 which include the location, pond geometry, dam geometry, sediment data and hydraulic measurements. The dataset also includes pond age, sedimentation rate, and drainage area which were calculated using field data, aerial imagery, and spatial analysis tools. A new energy loss term deemed the beaver dam coefficient which was developed in collaboration with the Bureau of Reclamation was calculated for each pond with the necessary hydraulic measurements. The metrics used to validate the beaver dam coefficient in SRH-2D are also included.
